The bottom line for the U.S. oligarchs: they don't care how many people they have to kill and enslave, or how much damage they cause thruout América Latina and the World -- just so's they win. Our only real option, then: determined unity in the face of such totalitarian capitalist tyranny.

And so right away this puts us at odds with those among us who are always willing to 'cut a deal' with these mass murderers. Our leaders cannot be from among this number. Or we lose. Simple as that.

In any case -- there will be no easy road to a socialist future. We will have to fight and die for it. 'Reforming capitalism' is a dangerous pipedream we must dispense with.

Eva, Thank you for such truthful reporting. I've lived in Ecuador for 30 years. When will the United Mistakes of Amerika realize that their imperialistic maneuvers don't work anymore and they just cannot control the world! There is not one country down here who wants their presence in Colombia. Uribe has really ostracized himself and you could see it on his face at the unisur meetings a month or so back. They will destabilize the whole continent by their presence in Colombia, not to mention the chaos they will cause in Venezuela and Ecuador, and the continent needs to be united now more than ever. I keep waiting for the gringos to go broke--fighting so many wars is pretty costly. I guess that is why the empire has started to crumble and fall--and this is only the beginning! And they are over there in Afghanistan fighting a holy war that they have no business interfering in--yet in the United Mistakes, it is 'illegal' to say the word God. I'm sorry to say, they have become a pretty sick puppy of a society (and I was born there!). I do admire (albeit quirky, but likeable) Hugo Chavez, and I believe that he has been the spark that had lit the fire of change down here insofar as getting rid of the "Loan Sharks"--IMF and World Bank and US "help." But according to some folks in Venezuela, he has to do more there, not just helping Argentina, Bolivia, and others (which he certainly does!). I remember what the dirty CIA did back in the early '70s---incited Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, etc. to kill their own children (who would be my age now, around 60). I am just hoping that very soon the "Mistakes" go so broke that they cannot dominate and ruin any more of the world. They have already ruined the "Dollar" for the rest of the world, and I am in favor of a unified South American currency. I think we will see it soon. Keep up the good work!
